Q: Where does Dr. Howard perform his surgeries?
A: Dr. Howard performs his adult cosmetic surgeries at the HealthSouth Outpatient CareCenter (across the street from St. Vincent's Hospital on University Boulevard downtown Birmingham). This is a 23 hour facility that enables patients to stay overnight with a Registered Nurse to care for you. The facility has private rooms and a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center.
Q: Does Dr. Howard perform surgery under sedation or general anesthesia?
A: Dr. Howard performs his surgeries under general anesthesia to provide the most comfort to his patients. The Board Certified Anesthesiologists of the Anesthesia Services of Birmingham care for all of our adult patients in surgery at the OutPatient CareCenter.
Q: What does Dr. Howard charge for consultations?
A: Dr. Howard charges a $100 fee for consultations. This fee will be deducted from the cost of your surgery.
Q: What days of the week does Dr. Howard do surgery?
A: Everyday except on Fridays. Patients are not permitted to stay overnight at the surgery facility therefore, Dr. Howard does not perform surgery on Fridays. Dr. Howard operates Monday through Thursday. For smaller surgical procedures that do not require an overnight stay, Dr. Howard will consider operating on a Friday.
Q: When is Dr. Howard available for consultations?
A: Dr. Howard is available in the afternoons Monday through Friday. Dr. Howard does not see patients on the weekend except for special cases. Our first appointment is at 2pm everyday due to the extended hours Dr. Howard spends in the operating room every morning.
Q: What procedures does Dr. Howard require the patient stay overnight at the facility?
A: Facelift, Blepharoplasty, Necklift, Liposuction, Tummy Tuck, Breast Augmentation, and laser resurfacing.
